The Gift of Magi
By O. Henry

The major characters of the short story "The Gift of Maji" are James and Della Young.Significant events of this story are when Della decides to sell her hair, when she buys a watch fob after she sells her hair to Mme. Sofronie, when Jim gets home and is stunned to see her hair cut, when Jim gives Della her present and she cries because she can't use it, & Della gives Jim his present and they are both stunned that they sacrificied their valuable possessions to get each other a gift. The climax of this story was when Della decides to cut her hair. The conflict of this story is internal conflict. Somewhat like Man vs. Society because their poor and they barely have any money. There really isn't any conflict. Man vs. Society comes close to it. Which means, James and Della Young decision to get each other a gift was to sacrifice their most valuable thing.
Jim sacrificed his watch to get Della the combs she always wanted for her long beautiful hair. Della sacrificed her hair to get Jim a watch fob for his watch that was once his father's. The resolution of this story was that Jim decided to wait and celebrate the gifts a different time.
The theme was irony. Selflessly giving up something you love to please you're loved one. Sacrificing something very valuable for the one you love most.

The major characters of short story of "The Necklace" are Madame Mathilde Loisel, Monseiur Loisel and Madame Forestier.
Significant Events from this short story are when M. Loisel gets an invitation to the ball. Mme. Loisel gets dress and borrows a very expensive necklace. Mme. Loisel has a great time at the ball. Mme. Loisel lost the necklace at the ball thinking it might of fell off while she was walking around. M. and Mme. Loisel looks for the necklace. M. and Mme. Loisel decides to take out a loan from the bank and replace the necklace with another one. M and Mme. Loisel take on other jobs and fire maid to make back the loaned money. Mme. Loisel sees Mme. Forestier and tells her about the exchange and learns that original necklace was fake.
The climax is when Mme. Loisel realizes that the necklace was gone.
The conflict of this story is Man vs. Self. They have to make decisions which means, whether or not to tell Mme. Forstier and whether or not to make loans.
The resolution is that the couple decides to take out loans and buy a necklace to replace the lost one.
Theirs a lot of themes that i think that relates to the story, always telling the truth, don't be envious for what others have and be content with what you have.
The literary skills is understands the third-person-limited point of view.
A quote from the story is "I have--I have--I've lost Madame Forestier's necklace," she cried.
My opinion on "The Necklace" is that it was an okay story. I like how the characters play all kinds of roles. Mme. Loisel to me was kind of such a selfish lady. She was dishonest. All she had to do was just be real with what happened and took the lick. She was going to replace the necklace either way so it really didn't give her the right to lie. I didnt find this story rather interesting, it's not the kind of story i would get into.

A quote from the story is not applicable because I cannot find one.
My opinion on “The Most Dangerous Game”, is that it was a good story. It's very adventurous & suspenseful. It's like a mystery also because of how Zaroff died. It doesnt tell how he died but it does tell that Rainford killed him. I would recommend this story for people to read even though it's a really long story.
